Day 4 and a Recipe FAIL

Today I figured out that the Couch to 5K program that I’m using is set up for people to take days off and only run 3 days a week at the beginning. I think it’s probably still ok for me to use if I’m running 6-7 days a week. Today the running intervals were a minute and a half, and the walking intervals were two minutes, with a 5 minute walking warm up and cool down, adding up to 31:30. I figure that I’ll listen to my body and if I’m feeling too tired or too sore, I’ll take a rest day.

So, Day 4 is done. I felt good! I’ll still a little sore in my hips and upper arms, the result of the running and the modified push ups. I’m still doing the same core routine, and will change the amount I do next week. I’m feeling stronger and a little less sore with my push ups, still really shaky with a really short wall sit (30 seconds) and about the same with the sit ups.

Something that made me happy today was picking up my youngest from his week long trip in Florida. (Now all of my boys are home!) I told Evan that I started running and eating clean, and I could tell he was genuinely happy about it. And when he saw me on the treadmill just now, he said, “Oooh, go Mom!” It was very sweet. ❤️

Last night I picked out a recipe for Chicken Canelloni Soup that was in my Run Fast, Eat Slow cookbook. It looked really good in the pictures, and the ingredients sounded good. However, after shopping for the ingredients, doubling the recipe so I’d have some on hand for dinner tonight (the kids ate something my husband made), I tasted it. It was awful. I choked down a bowl of it and will probably put the rest down the garbage disposal. Oh well. Lesson learned. Don’t make this...
